I remember my friend Lelet and I having this discussion one day at work, a little over five years ago, about who she should wear on her wedding day.

Lelet: On my wedding, I`m going to wear a Vera Wang!
Me: Wow, a Vera Wang! You must save up na, because an off-the-rack gown costs months worth of your salary and a custom-made one is about the same price as your new car…
Lelet: Which why we`re having the reception at Mc Donald`s. A Happy Meal for each happy attendee…

You will know that last statement she made is NOT a joke.

Personally, I can`t decide between Vera Wang and Monique Lhuillier, er,as well as Reem Acra and Amsale, each of whom I believe have their own unique design sense. But in terms of business ventures within the same industry, my vote goes to Vera Wang hands down.
