It`s – days till Rica Peralejo`s beach wedding in Batangas and the next few posts will be about interesting bits and pieces about it.

WE thank Rica (Carla in real life), Joe (her hubby to be) and wedding planner Teena Barretto for letting us in on what`s in store for the couple on their wedding day)

Unlike most celebrity weddings made with/of glitz and glamour and well, more glitz. Rica and Joe`s wedding is of meanings.

Teena Barretto shares that one of the things that brought Joseph and Carla together is their love for books. So the cake features a stack of books that Joseph and Carla both like.

To show this, cake designer Joy San Gabriel handcrafted the books from fondant icing and stacked them one on top of the other. `We highlighted the book stack with a cake topper of the jubilant couple handcrafted from fondant icing displayed on top of an open book.` Joy said.

According to Joy, the couple’s choice of “The Odyssey” by Homer, “The Outliers” by Malcolm Gladwell, “The Great Divorce” by CS Lewis, “The Life You’ve Always Wanted ” by John Ortberg, “Style” by Kate Spade, “The Seven Pillars of Health” by Don Colbert, MD, “The Literary Study Bible” by Leland Ryken and Philip Graham Ryken and “Strengths Finder 2.0″ by Tom Rath, speaks about how to be the best person for each other. `In a deeper sense, Joy adds, books ultimately reflected their desire to fulfill their purpose as a couple, to be the best couple in the eyes of the one true master, Jesus.`
